XBox Live Vs PSN: Which One Is Better?

Monday, January 23rd, 2012 | Permalink

Most gamers owned either an XBox, a Wii, or the PS3; in simple words, these three consoles dominate the gaming consoles market. They have their pros and cons, however, overall they are very good. All of them try to come up with something new, something better for their gaming clan every year.

In this article, we will take a look at all of them and help you decide the one you should get. Most of the games — the major ones — can be found for the Xbox as well as the PS3. These include games like Fifa ’12, Call of Duty series, etc. If that is what you are looking for, you may pick any of these consoles; it will do the job just right. All of them have, more or less, the same computing power, the same capacity and the same graphics. There is little to differentiate on those fronts.

The picture, however, changes when you look at the quality of the games available for each of these consoles. Some clearly lead the race from that angle. For example, with Xbox 360, you may get the Xbox Kinect 360, launched in 2010, which is an amazing new way to look at gaming. PS3 has it’s own version of Kinect, called the Move, too!

Apart from that, there are exclusive gaming titles for both of these platforms. In my opinion, the PS3 exclusives hold a slight edge. Gaming titles such as the Uncharted series, Resistance, God of War, inFamous, etc make the PS3 a very tempting purchase.

In the same vein, Xbox 360 has it’s own set of excellent gaming titles as well. These include but are not limited to Gears of War, Forza, Halo series, etc. You may also avail of Free 48 Hour Xbox Live Codes, which are very helpful. With these codes, you can play online, on the Xbox Live environment which is fantastic.

The PS3 also has the Playstation Network, also known as PSN, that facilitates the same for PS3 fanatics. You would be hard pressed to declare a clear winner because they are equals on numerous fronts, however, due to the current gaming titles, I would say PS3 is the better one but only just. The price is on the higher side but it’s a one-time investment, after all.

Dental Assistants: Dentist’s Reliable Second Pair Of Hands

Monday, January 23rd, 2012 | Permalink

Dental assistant jobs are becoming increasingly popular among young adults these days probably because of its modest entry requirements and relatively good pay. Median dental assistant salary is around dollar 27,000 to dollar 39,000 which rivals that of healthcare-related jobs which are more labor intensive, such as that of orderlies and nursing aides. With seniority and further education, it is also possible for a dental assistant’s salary to reach as much as forty-six thousand dollars.

Compared to other unlicensed assistive personnel in other healthcare settings, dental assistants work in comfortable clinics, have predictable work hours, simple, and relatively non-physically demanding responsibilities. Dental assistants are tasked with various patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Their job description includes scheduling and confirming appointments, receiving patients, keeping treatment records, receiving payments, and ordering dental supplies.

They prepare the dentist’s instruments and equipment, and work alongside the licensed professional serving as a second pair of hands during treatments and procedures. In other jurisdictions, these unlicensed assistive personnel assume more complex tasks, such as dental cleaning, but usually this would necessitate fulfilling certain requisites such as finishing an accredited training program and having years of experience. These personnel are vital to any dental office as they ensure that things run smoothly.

In most States, no formal education or training is required for entry level positions. Traditionally, dental assistants learn through on-the-job training. Nowadays, more and more dental clinics have become more partial to getting those that have at least completed a certification program. Dental assistant schools in the country provide certificate or diploma programs which typically takes 6 months to a year to finish. There are also dental assistant schools that have programs leading to an associate degree, which you may want to consider if you intend on taking expanded roles in the future. After graduating from these programs, you may be required to sit the exam provided by the Dental Assisting National Board. Passing such test will bestow on you the Certified Dental Assistant status. PThis credential is required in at least 37 states.

Based on a study done by the Bureau of Labor Statistics there are already about 300,000 employed in such an occupation in 2008 alone and this is expected to grow to 400,000 by 2018. That reflects more than thirty percent growth rate, which is better compared to other occupations. From 2008-2018, dental assistant jobs will continue to be available as there are still vacancies to fill, as older assistants leave their positions for higher ones, or leave the occupation to pursue another one.

Where Should You Buy Snow Boots From

The winter season is a beautiful season however, it’s a mixed bag. Unless you are equipped, you may end up suffering the wrath of winter. To make the most of next winters, you need to wear the right clothes, so that you can go out for winter hiking, or any other winter sports (snow boating, speed skating, etc).

These gears include headgear, footwear such as snow boots, jackets among others. For winter sports, snow boots are possibly the essential gear that you need urgently. They are not an easy pick, far from it. In order to find the best snow boot, you will need to do a bit of research.

Apart from snow boots, uggs are popular too. Their main goal is to keep your feet warm. Actually, I am not too fond of them – they don’t look so good. However, if you wish to purchase them, go ahead, do your research and get these uggs.

Good looks shouldn’t be your biggest concern though. The most noteworthy thing about these shoes is that they keep you warm and thus, that is what you should be looking for. They are available in all shapes, sizes and price ranges: it would be recommended to shop around and search for deals instead of being an impulse buyer.

The shoes need to be water-resistant else they won’t serve the purpose they are designed for. They should not be typical boots’ height either — the height will decide if snow gets inside. The material is essential too because it’s the material that decides if the snow boot keeps you warm or not.

Form over function is how it goes in most cases however, when dealing with snow boots, you can reverse that saying. Function here is a lot more important than the appearance thus, if you find that uggs serve the purpose that you want, there is no problem in purchasing them.

You might buy these – or at minimum see the prices – over the web. A number of e-commerce sites provide these boots. Actually, there are many sites like Zappos which focus on selling only shoes. This means you will get to pick from a wider collection and simultaneously, you will get better after-sale service.
